Serums seem to have become one of the raging fads in the last few years. Now it isn’t enough to have a day lotion, a night cream, an eye cream, a BB cream, a CC cream–ARGH! Yeah, it’s enough to make a girl scream, reach for the only cream she really wants  (the kind that comes from her buddies Ben and Jerry) and just decide to let her skin age without any intervention.

So why should we add another step to our already overwhelming beauty routines? Are these serums really worth the time? Personally, I think they are. They’re a way to deliver vitamins and nutrients directly to the skin in a purer, more easily absorbed form than most creams allow.

The one I tried out for this post is Dr Song’s Vitamin C Serum. It comes in a beautiful cobalt blue glass bottle that reminds me of old time medicine shops with their tinctures and remedies lined up gleaming in the windows. It has a glass dropper for precise application.

I like that it doesn’t have a huge list of ingredients, and the main ones are easily recognizable. This serum contains a huge 20% of Vitamin C, boosted with Aloe, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid and Jojoba Oil.

I have sensitive skin, so I’m pretty careful about what I use- for instance, I can break out if a poison ivy plant just looks at me wrong-  but I didn’t experience any problems with this serum. In fact, from the first use it left my skin feeling velvety soft to the touch. I kept catching myself running my fingers across my cheek, admiring how soft it was. So that could be an issue, people will think you’re a weirdo. ;-)

Dr Song originally manufactured their products for professionals, doctors, and medical facilities, so this serum has been through more rigorous testing than most beauty products available to the public. Their products are made in the USA and they offer a one year refund policy- you don’t even have to return the product. If you aren’t happy they will simply refund your money. You girls know I love a company that stands by their products!

Dr Song has generously offered to let one of my readers try the serum for themselves! Yay! You will receive a full size 1 oz bottle of Vitamin C Serum.

This giveaway is open to the US only. Use the Rafflecopter form to enter below. DO as many or few entries as you’d like. The winner will be contacted and will have 48 hours to respond before I have to choose someone new. The sponsor is solely responsible for delivery of your prize.

I love serums and am using them more and more. I would choose cream over ice cream although that is a tough question.

I would pick facial cream for the rest of my life. I have tried one serum but did not like it. Forget the name now. A lot of things my skin hates. Irritates. I wanna try this!!

I have tried serums, I like them better than creams for my oily skin. Ice cream vs skin care?! What a terrible choice. I am addicted to both. Probably go for ice cream and use natural stuff from my kitchen for skin care. Or is that cheating?
