I had the chance to check out this fun new virtual makeover site at http://www.glamst.com. It reminds me of a Barbie video makeover game we have, only in this instance you get to be Barbie and it allows you to see how actual products will look before you buy them. How cool is that?

The concept is simple. You start by going to https://glamst.com/VirtualTester/Looks. The site has customizable models preloaded into the makeover tool but the real fun comes in uploading your own pics to test out new makeup looks. After you’ve uploaded your picture, the site walks you though a series of dot placements to allow it to map your features and place the makeup correctly.

When your photo is properly set up, the possibilities are endless! https://glamst.com/VirtualTester/Productos?type=3&category=9 They have a large selection of some of the very best makeup brands available for you to mix and match.

Now, I will say I had a few issues with the site. The face shape tool would not let me zoom or move my photos enough to capture the edges of my face- you can see in both examples below that the blush is far out of line with our faces. It still does give you a good representation of how the color will work with your skin. The site also offers tips on the perfect picture to upload- but I feel that most people browsing around for fun are just going to upload a pic they have handy or snap a quick selfie. The eyebrow, eye and lip tools were much more exact and I had no problems with those.

The other issue for me was that the site continuously logged me out in the middle of whatever I was doing. I would have uploaded more pics and spent much longer playing around with looks, except I found this extremely frustrating. The site is new and still developing so I’m very hopeful that these kinks will be worked out soon. I can absolutely see this being a tool that would be useful to visit and fun for ladies of all ages.

I tried out Lancôme Sensational Effects Eye Shadow Quad, Dior Addict Lip Glow, Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée and NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner. And it does also work as a shopping tool, because now I very much want that Dior Addict lipgloss!

My niece saw me playing around on the site and wanted to try a look of her own. We used MAKE UP FOR EVER Diamond Powder, Givenchy Noir Couture 4 in 1 Waterproof Mascara, MAKE UP FOR EVER Lab Shine Lip Gloss, Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush, and Lancôme ARTLINER – Precision Point EyeLiner. This was extra fun for her since I would normally never allow her to wear this much makeup at once!

I hope you ladies have fun trying this out and share your pics with me- I’d love to see your makeovers!
