Surprise Ride Kids Craft Subscription Box Review + Giveaway! Ends 10/16

It takes quite a bit to stand out among the current plethora of box subscription services. It seems like they’ve popped up for every possible niche you can think of- and many you’d never even knew existed. From the fun name onward, I feel like Surprise Ride might have what it takes to survive past the trend.

Surprise Ride is a subscription service that sends kids ages 6-11 fun and educational hands-on activities that foster creativity and imagination.  The company was started by two sisters Donna and Rosy, and they have been working hard to create a lasting impact on the lives of children, beyond the latest toys or technologies.

They were featured on Shark Tank in November. They also recently partnered with award-winning country music star Sara Evans and Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® to develop an activity box full of nutritious recipes and engaging crafts that makes it easier than ever to spend quality time with your kids.  This partnership was featured on The View this May.

The box arrived, fun and full of colorful confetti.

This box features the beautifully illustrated book Ace Lacewing, Bug Detective: Bad Bugs Are My Business. The book is easy enough for newer readers to handle, with enough of a real storyline to keep older kids interested.

This was a summer box so it featured plants and gardening activities. Everything your child needs for each project is included. One project featured seeds, container and instruction booklet for your child to grow their own window sill herb garden. It even includes a metal spray bottle to mist your plants.

There are two fun crafts projects: a plant man made of stocking with glue on features and grass hair. The other is a small windchime that comes with tons of plastic jewels to glue on in a mosaic pattern.

The surprises just keep coming! We also got a cute solar-activated dancing plant to put on the window ledge AND a yummy bag of Plentils crunchy chips. What I love is that the box is not only fun, but comprehensively educational on a chosen subject. Kids are exposed to various aspects of how plants grow, how sunlight works, how wind works- and even the end result of plants, through the lentil chips.
