If you’re a chocolate fanatic, this is the ultimate perfume for you. And let’s face it, I’m slightly suspicious of anyone who doesn’t swoon over cocoa and fudge.

Serendipitous- which is also fun to say! – is a delectably sweet chocolate scent with added hints of Tahitian vanilla and blood orange. I’ve been obsessed with blood orange for a while now, so that was a nice surprise.

The perfume does smell delicious, but I didn’t find it overwhelmingly chocolatey in the cloying sense of “Hey I bathed in a melted chocolate bar, come eat me!” The vanilla and citrus balance it out nicely and you’re left with an intriguingly sweet scent. If you like darker, muskier, earthier scents, this one won’t be for you. It lasts well throughout the day.

I also like the backstory behind this perfume. It’s the first signature scent in the world to be launched by a restaurant: Serendipity 3 in NYC.  Serendipity 3 has been serving up whimsical delights such as their famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, along with other decadent desserts and exotic food creations for 63 years. That calculates to about 900 in fickle restaurant years! Stephen Bruce is the owner and creative mind behind all of this luscious madness.
