I’m a fan of Victoria Jackson and her positive message of empowerment, putting forward the notion that makeup should be used to build confidence and enhance your own natural beauty- not as a mask to hide who you are. Thus I was thrilled to get the opportunity to try out some of her products. While I firmly believe that ALL women are gorgeous creatures, without a stitch of makeup, I also think it is so fun to experiment and play with new looks. For me, it has nothing to do with attracting men or fitting into society’s norms. Dressing up, using makeup, etc, just adds a little sparkle to my day and makes me FEEL better. Taking the time out to take care of myself makes me feel ready to face any challenge that comes my way.

That’s Glamasnow Queen posing with the products, by the way. She’s a well-known snob who only wears the finest makeup and accessories. She said Victoria Jackson is simply to die for, darling.

My favorite item in the beauty bundle I received was the Lush Mascara. Some of you already know I’m a mascara fiend. I can’t pass up any new kind without trying it out, though I usually come back to my short list of favorites. I may have to add this one to the list. The brush is the perfect size, nice and plush but not so enormous that I feel like I’m applying eye makeup with a wriggling caterpillar. It provided beautiful coverage without a single clump. Lately some mascaras have been stinging my eyes. I don’t know if this is some new ingredient being used or if my sensitivities are just changing, but the LAST thing I want when applying mascara is watery eyes. Victoria’s Lush Mascara didn’t cause any of those issues, I was tear- and streak-free long into the night.

Which brings us to my almost equally favorite Gentle Eye & Face Makeup Remover. This stuff is fabulous! It’s so gentle that you can actually soak cotton pads in it and place them over your eyes for a few minutes for a relaxing spa-like eye refresh. It contains soothing chamomile and flower essences to pamper tired eyes. Yet while it is so lovely and gentle, it also takes even the toughest eye makeup right off, without any fighting or rubbing. It really does feel like just a slightly sudsy water, no harsh oils or greasiness.

My skin is extremely pale. I don’t tan, I just go from translucent to tomato in about thirty seconds. So while I received the Foundation Duo in Light, it was still a bit too dark for my skin. I used the actual makeup in my sketchbook above to give you an idea of the shades. I love that they provide two colors, a darker one for contouring and a lighter one for normal coverage. The formula is creamy and covers well. I also like the high quality sponge that’s included in its own compartment in the mirrored compact.

The Mineral Blush in Sparkling Rose is very pretty and could easily be used as an eyeshadow as well. It provides a healthy pink glow with a bit of shimmering sparkle, which you girls know I personally adore.

The best part about all of these products is that you can feel they’re made from high-quality ingredients that aren’t going to harm your delicate skin.

    • Aw, ty! Haha, that isn’t supposed to be me though, I just wanted to show the makeup colors because they were way too dark for my skin.
