I actually had no idea that cherry juice acted as a sleep aid when I agreed to review it. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t aware of any of its healthy qualities (beyond oh hey fruit= healthy!). I simply happen to love really sour stuff and thought it might be tasty mixed into a fruit smoothie or something.
Thus this Organic Tart Cherry Juice has been quite an education for me. While it IS extremely tasty, and I would absolutely recommend it purely on deliciousness alone, it also proves to have a wide variety of other benefits.
First of all, this particular brand is great because it is fat free, sugar free, BPA free, gluten free and certified organic. Aside from that, as I mentioned above it is awesome at helping to restore your natural sleep patterns. Apparently tart cherry juice is the number one source of natural melatonin (which helps regulate your sleep).
Among its other features is its ability to block the enzymes that cause pain. Before reaching for a less natural solution, I’d much rather give something safe and healthy a try. It also may support heart health and blood circulation, s I think I’ll be buying some for my parents who are supposed to be sticking to a heart-healthy diet.
My schedule is even crazier than normal lately, with the girls going back to school and having to wake up for the bus at 5 am. My sleeping pattern is basically- sleep when I can. For a more normal schedule they recommend trying the cherry juice at dinner or 2-3 hours before bed to get the full effect of melatonin-balancing.
This is definitely a product I plan to continue using and would recommend to others!
