This huge, brightly colored package of Origami Paper from Orchid was a delight to play with! The 500-sheet pack comes with a rainbow of ten pretty colors, each sheet sized 15cm x 15cm and 80 GSM thickness. This is the perfect size for practicing and learning the art of origami.

The paper is non-toxic and durable, which makes it great for use by children and adults alike. It’s nice not to have to worry about nasty chemicals leaching off onto the hands of your kids!

Origami, from ori meaning “folding”, and kami meaning “paper” is the art of paper folding, often associated with Japanese culture. The goal is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. Modern origami practitioners discourage the use of cuts, glue, or markings on the paper.

The package starts you off with easy to follow instructions on how to make a basic star. There are tons of websites and videos available that help instruct you on how to make pretty much every possible animal and object through paper folding.

This pack really is a great value. With this many sheets and colors, you could easily entertain a whole classroom full of kids- or keep it handy in your own arts and crafts area for rainy afternoon fun. I could also see it having other paper crafting uses, such as in greeting card-making and collages!
