May 2014 Bergdorf Goodman Glossybox Unboxing and Review

One of my sweetest friends recently won a Glossybox subscription. Instead of keeping it for herself, she decided to send it to me! I’m not sure how I lucked into such awesomely generous friends, but I choose not to question it and just be grateful. The bonus side effect, my dear yams, is that all of you get to see the luxurious treats as they arrive.

This week I received my very first one- the May Bergdorf Goodman Box! What an auspicious beginning.

The box itself is a pretty lavender color, nice and sturdy and perfectly made to use as a keepsake box. If you’re a raven like me, you’ll understand the seductive pleasure of a cozy little hiding spot for any sparkly, shiny pretties you might collect.

Inside, everything was lovely and color-coordinated, wrapped in grey tissue paper and purple ribbon and resting on a bed of grey shredded paper.

I was immediately excited about the Alterna Caviar Cream Leave-In Hair Perfector. Offering everything from shine and moisture to UV protection and made with tantalizing ingredients such as caviar extract, sunflower seed oil, honey and lemon- I can’t wait to try this!

Next I checked out the Lancer Lift Serum Intense Stem Cell Recovery Complex. According to the box, it contains pure gold. I’m not a hundred percent sure how this benefits my skin, but I have to say that anointing myself with actual gold will make me FEEL fancy.

To continue the tour of the senses, we have Atelier Cologne in Rose Anonyme. I was expecting more of a flowery scent from the name, but it’s quite spicy. This intriguing scent contains Turkish rose absolue, ginger from China and velvet oud accord. A little mysterious and perfect for me!

I’m already a Napoleon Perdis fan, so I was happy to see a box of Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer. “Not to prime is a crime!” the box declares, and I think that sums things up nicely.

The next product I hadn’t heard of, but I am a mascara junkie from way back. Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara Hourglass. I’ve already tried this out and I do think the pinwheel bristles do a nice job of coating each tiny lash.

Oh yeah and last but certainly not least! A $25 Bergdorf Goodman gift card. All of those goodies and I still get to choose something else. Plus if you were buying these, the gift card alone would equal the cost of your box.

I can’t wait to show you what next month brings! For now I’ll leave you with some pretty necklaces and nail polish that arrived on the same day. These are not part of the Glossybox, but everything coordinated so perfectly it felt serendipitous!

  1. I WANT that box! It is sooo pretty! I have never subscribed to a box before, but perhaps GlossyBox is the one to go for!

    • It does seem like a pretty good value! I can’t wait to see the upcoming one- on the site it looks like a special Stars & Stripes edition! 🙂
