Kitchen scales have come a long way in recent years. My first impression of the Gurin Touch Professional Digital Kitchen Scale was that it is beautiful. Perhaps a weird thing to say about a kitchen scale, but it is so sleek, black and shiny that it really is quite pretty to look at.
But, of course, more important than looks is function. From my tests it also works like a dream. The version I tried weighs items up to 12 pounds, which is amazing. I can’t see myself needing weigh anything larger than that in my home kitchen. Th scale features touch sensitive buttons that are super easy to operate. Perhaps the only downfall is the constant need to wipe away fingerprints- but that’s something that my obsessive is bothered by on all touch devices.
The scale is much thinner and lighter than I expected. It has a reflective black, tempered glass surface that is 4 times stronger than normal glass, which is nice if you’re a little bit accident-prone like me!
The scale comes equipped with 4 high precision GFX sensors to provide accurate measurements from 0.05 oz to 12 lbs 10.8 oz (1 gram to 5750 grams). If you’re serious about cooking and baking, this can make a huge difference in the accuracy of your recipes. It takes all the guesswork out of kitchen prep. It’s also nice if you’re into fitness and weightloss, to help manage the size of your portions more accurately. The Precision Tare feature also calculates the net weight of the ingredients
The scale runs on two lithium batteries, which are in a compartment that can be opened without a screwdriver, which is nice.
All in all I found it to be a high-quality, handy addition to my kitchen
