We are total board game fanatics here. The only problem is, at this point we pretty much own all the games, including lots of out of print games I’ve found on ebay. It’s become a challenge to find anything truly new or innovative.
As you can imagine, I was so stoked to try out Gravity Maze, which is a marble run logic puzzle, building visual perception and reasoning skills. This is definitely unlike anything we’ve tried before.
Opening the box was at once slightly intimidating and dazzling. The game is filled with many brightly colored translucent interlocking pieces. It also includes a building base, 60 challenge cards and metallic marbles. The recommended age range is from 8 to adult.
Each challenge card presents a problem from Beginner to Expert, which you must solve by building a path that will carry your marble to its target.
What I love about this game is that you can actually feel your brain stretching. As you start out, building the mazes and testing them out is in itself a large part of the creative fun, but as time goes on it really does seem to sharpen your ability to visualize spaces and reactions. All of this while building beautiful ice-rock candy sculptures that catch and filter the light.
We haven’t finished all the cards yet, but when you do the game doesn’t lose its value- you can continue to build your own mazes and challenge each other.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
