Fall is one of my favorite fashion seasons. It isn’t yet so cold that you have to completely hide under coats and mittens and hats, yet it’s chilly enough to allow for fabulous layering. Plus something about the drama of autumn practically begs for experimenting with dramatic colors and patterns.
I’ve been having fun putting together several fall fashion looks for you play with. I’m going to start out with my Glam Punk choices. And since Christmas is so very close, you might find some items to add to your shopping- or your own wish list!
For me, this outfit started with the boots. I mean, come on. You could walk around naked in just these boots and feel like some kind of Imperator Furiosa badass. The boots are by Bed Stu, from their Cobbler series. These can be a little pricey but they are so worth it, handmade from gorgeously luxurious distressed leather.
Mimicking the look of the studded boots, without being too spot-on, matchy-matchy in terms of color, I added the buttery soft tan-gray purse by Rebecca Minkoff.
Then I began building the look from the foundation up, with the Libertine bikini and demi bra in Leopard from Blush.
On top of those, I chose this soft gray sweatshirt with an edge by Aryn K, featuring silver spike studs and an open back. I would probably slip a plain black tank on underneath. On the bottom I went with Denizen boot cut jeans in a dark blue unwashed denim.
Dark gray, fingerless fur-cuffed knit gloves keep your hands toasty but leave your fingers free for texting. A rhinestone-encrusted silver cuff from Charlotte Russe amps up the glam-kitten quotient while Urban Ears Plattan headphones in black deliver pulsing sound so you can catwalk along to your own little soundtrack. Or you can stop on a park bench and settle in for an afternoon of perfect fall reading with The Witch of Lime Street: Seance, Seduction and Houdini in the Spirit World.
I kept the makeup simple yet rock star-esque, starting with flawless skin thanks to Nuance by Salma Hayek Smooth Start Skin Primer. Total Intensity by Prestige Fierce Color Eyeshadow in Long Term Relationship and Nyx Extreme Lip Cream in Absolute Red finish off your face while sparkling silver polish by Sinful Colors Professional adds some bling to your nails.
Stay tuned for my next fall fashion look: November Skies, inspired by the endless blue expanses only this month can bring.
