I am always in pursuit of the absolutely perfect lipgloss. Perhaps this is a vain pass-time, but honestly who among you hasn’t craved glisteningly ripe lips, soft as rose petals yet catching the light with a plumply polished gleam?
So when I got the chance to try out these FlowerColor Good For You Glosses from Eco Bella, I tried to play it cool but inside I’m like are you insane? Of course I want to try them. Get over here on my lips right now.
First of all, I have to note the packaging. Each tube of lipgloss comes with its own mirror on one side. If I were in charge of the world EVERY lipgloss, lipstick and mascara would have this feature. I feel like either a woman or one very smart guy who likes to wear makeup must have thought of this. Someone who has had the experience of forgetting their compact and searching desperately for any reflective surface in which to reapply their lipgloss- a wineglass, a spoon, the shiny expanse of their date’s bald head. It’s one of those seemingly tiny features that sets a brand apart from the rest in my mind.
They sent me four shades to try: Peace, Pleasure, Power and Passion. These retail for $17.95 and two of the colors, Power and Peace, are fully vegan.
These are the colors swatched on my pale skin in natural sunlight.
Peace is a nude tan flesh color with a bit of a golden sheen, this is lighter than my naked lip color. A very quiet shade for when you want a natural, glowing look.
Pleasure is medium pink that will probably have the widest appeal. I could see everyone from my young nieces to my mother wearing this color. Just a really pretty shimmering pink that is more natural than the two darker shades.
Power is a dark purple-ish mauve that I wasn’t sure I’d like, but is actually quite nice once applied.
Passion is a beautiful deep red that I would probably be more likely to wear over lip pencil or lipstick to make sure it stays in place.
Each lipgloss has an angled foam tip applicator that makes precise application easy. They don’t have that tacky, sticky feeling that some glosses do and they seemed to have good staying power. I was having a long conversation and drinking a bottle of water while checking out the different shades and the glosses held up well. I didn’t end up with any on my teeth, which was easy to check with the handy mirror!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
