If the eyes are the windows to the soul, there’s no way to keep the weight of wisdom and age from shining through. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t dress them up with some shiny shutters and curtains. They deserve the prettiest setting you can offer- that’s why I’m always on the lookout for products to help keep fine lines and wrinkles in the delicate eye area at bay.
This Age Defense Eye Cream from Body Merry was intriguing because it contains some ingredients I’m unfamiliar with. These include Matrixyl-3000 and Tripeptide-5, which are apparently cutting-edge peptides, as well as an ocean based Retinol. More familiar was the list of antioxidants, organic vitamins and minerals, pure plant oils and botanical actives, including Aloe, Witch Hazel, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Vitamin C, Cucumber, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Tamanu Oil, Green Tea, Licorice, Eyebright, Avocado Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Rose Hip Oil, Lemon, Lemongrass, Vitamin B5, Lavender, Blueberry Extract, Chamomile and much more.
I loved the easy-to-use pump bottle, much nicer than trying to shake a few drops from a bottle (that usually ends with a handful of cream you don’t need) or unsanitarily sticking your fingers into an open jar. You really need just a tiny amount to cover the eye area. I think it’s a good idea to apply it in the morning and then again in the evening for the best results. You can also wear it all day under makeup.
The cream wasn’t greasy or unpleasant and I could both see and feel an immediate moisturizing effect on my skin. I tend to have super sensitive skin, but had no issues with using this eye cream. I also tend to get dark circles, where I’m so pale, especially around the time of my period. I felt like this cream helped plump up the skin around my eyes and diminish the appearance of the circles. They weren’t gone completely, but I didn’t need to use as much concealer to avoid looking like a crazed raccoon!
Overall I enjoyed using it and felt like it was an effective alternative to my normal eye cream.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
