I’ve never used silicone to bake with before so I was extremely skeptical about these Baking Cups from Grazia, I have to admit. However, I’m always up for new experiences, especially ones that could potentially make my life easier.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I used these over the holidays to make both chocolate chip muffins and chocolate cupcakes. I had lent out my muffin pans and not received them back, so I just placed the baking cups on a cookie sheet. I worried they would deform or sag during baking, but they held up perfectly. After baking and cooling, the cups peeled off of both the muffins and cupcakes beautifully without any mess or tearing. The results were perfectly moist, delicious treats that disappeared so fast that my guests were asking when I would make more. So yeah, I’m definitely a silicone baking cup convert!
One other thing I love about this set is the pretty array of colors they come in. Not only is it visually appealing, it’s nice if you’re making several varieties of baked goods that look similar, so you can remember what each one is. I like that they can be reused over and over, no more buying those paper cup liners or worrying about running out.
The cups are also BPA free and dishwasher safe, though I found they rinsed clean in hot soapy water with ease. I was truly pleased with my experience and already have plans for more baking adventures in the days to come.
